Blog post, 25th August

Looking back to when I started this Pheasant for my dad in May and all the other pieces Ive created in that time im happy with the progress I've made.

I've been getting out a lot and painting plein air, also been busy making prints and working on that side of things. Some landscapes, some colour study, flowers, a self portrait.

Still a lot of detail to add to this piece, but happy with how its progressing! Am working at a quicker rate than I imagined and ahead of my own time estimate.

Plein air paintings helped with my confidence to work faster and be brave wtith my painting, capturing a whole scene from sun set to dark In just over an hour. I've learnt a lot and been insipried to paint everything to gain experience and improve my technique with studying and practicing.

Have been getting some photography in for painting references in winter too, and been learning more on improving my knowledge in photography.

Looking at starting another commission after this and have already been sent a lovely old photo that im keen to paint!

Happy weekend, nature is so beautiful right now. Enjoy. Be inspired, be creative, have fun...

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter. I spent time with family and friends, enjoying live music and gardening whilst still doing art too....
