Blog post, update

Updated: May 6, 2024

It's been a nice start to the year and throughout January I've been mostly focused on progressing with this oil painting. It isn't finished yet as I'm keen to add more detail to all the elements.

I have new prints avaliable on my Etsy for sale now and these Sunflower painting giclee prints come in a white frame with mount board, or also unframed. Thinking of making framed prints avaliable as an option for all my prints on my Etsy store for fine art prints. All made using the Printspace London with Giclee and C-type prints.

Thankful to those who purchased paintings and prints recently. Also always greatful for the support, advice and feedback I receive as I try to grow more as an artist and small business owner.

Selling paintings makes room in storage for me to create more so im keen to sell the original pieces I have made. They are shown here on my website or also on ebay where they have a global shipping programme for delivery outside of the UK. https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/gemmabradshaw?fbclid=PAAaavWK3k2rUIOjiX9vteNT7mpeJgbSkRAIPAeVbJdqcXO9tcm5xVKa6zL5Q

There is also my new strawberry bags avaliable now

A few other projects in progress mostly focused on one oil painting right now, but I have been doing other pieces inbetween this. Oil painting in an attempted realistic style often requires me leaving detail to dry before being able to continue working on area's as not to smudge the work ive done. Or because oil paint can wrinkle when layers don't get to dry properly under layers which dry faster. There are many factors to consider when using oil paints that do make it a fairly slow process when an attempt at realism.

Here are some other pieces I have been working on recently too. Valentines day roses, a quick still life alla prima (wet-on-wet) oil painting done in one sitting.

This watercolour prayer plant leaf, framed and avaliable to buy.

Some artwork still in progress...

Painting progress is avaliable to watch in short sped up process videos on My instagram, my facebook and fairly new tiktok account too. All my links are on my linktree here https://linktr.ee/Artbybradshaw

I have a private artwork request in progress too, so am sketching and developing their idea.

Was also asked to make some handmade cards. I am happy with these and want to make more. These are photo prints of my artwork on blank white cards. Stamped with my logo on the back and sealed in a film bag. Here is a small selection of them, lots of others made. At the moment these are avaliable upon request and made to order. Message me for more info

Some more new ideas 💡 some beautiful lemons spotted when I went to do this weeks foodshop. Inspired me to create some still life photography to use for painting references.

Keen to finish this and will continue keeping my focus mainly on progressing with it, before I start any new paintings unless waiting for layers to dry then will pick up one of my other pieces that are in progress too.

Glad to see some more colour as some of the flowers started appearing, with snowdrops, daffodils, primrose, crocus and more green foliage too. Still not painting outdoors just yet and waiting for warmer weather.

Take care and focus on good things,

Gemma Bradshaw
