Blossom" A2 frame with mount for A3 painting

Here is a painting inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's famous almond blossom's. I painting this during spring, when blossom was on the trees. I was reading a great book on Van Gogh by Pierre Cabbane, which spoke of Van Gogh's life and works in great detail. I learnt about his family, his friends, his travels. I always liked his work, but grew to admire him more and respect him more for his passion and dedication for art. His obsession and many, many hundreds of drawings and painting which he produced in his lifetime. I created my own painting, in studying Van gogh's textures his painting style, the impressionist technique. Thick texture, great colour theory, movement, his bold painted brush marks etc. I wanted to add my own creation of a different background to his beautiful almond tree. I wanted to create a relaxing colourful textured abstract background which provoked a calm feeling of spring. I also chose to use some pumice gel and textured beading to create a texture which enhanced the beauty of the flowers and added elements of finer detail. Though this is greatly inspired by Van Gogh it's also very different to his, in colour, contrast and texture. Made from acrylic and gel mediums, pumice gel, and beads. Varnished with a gloss varnish after being signed GEB, for Gemma Elizabeth Bradshaw. Framed with mount board so the surface has an air gap, with my own added fixings on the back. The frame has D-ring hooks and string for secure wall hanging. This painting is beautiful and I was temped to keep it myself, however I hope it can be greatly enjoyed by others as this is why I paint. I was inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, and I hope my painting will continue to Inspire. "I feel there is nithing more artist than to love people" quote by Vincent Van Gogh.
