April blog post

Such a beautiful time of year. I love spring flowers, sunny weather, and the light of the day.

Before the bold bright contrasting colour of summer flowers there is the blossoms and wild flowers. Often neutral, pastel shades. The forget-me-nots and the lilacs, hawthorn and cherry blossoms. Tulips bloom, and then slip away. New leaves grow and the spring greens and sunlight rejuvinate me. Winter rest is put to rest and as spring is sprung, I am sprung into a more enegergetic, happy and healthy state.

The garden is tidied and the flowers adored. The daylight is soaked in and I bathed in the suns rays.

The sunrise and the sunsets are enjoyed all the more and I look forward with more optomism than winter gloom.

I took this photo one morning early April before work. The sunrise made the sky such a beautiful pink! I would love to paint this and regret not getting out a better camera, instead of just using my phone.

I have been getting back into running more often again, as well as home workouts. I love a sunset run, and being more of an evening person the longer days gives me more time to get out around work shifts.

I have continued working on my yellow rose painting, building up the details. I feel like getting out painting plein air and making a new seascape painting too. I have been busy working and passed my theory test with my driving test booked. I continue art journalling and reading. I have also spent a little time with friends, family and enjoying live music /dancing.

I have a newly framed painting. The old garden shed at the bottom of the garden. A plein air oil painting, from last spring. I love this piece, the noslagia, the beauty in something so over-looked. I think I captured what I saw and it made an even better painting than the view in front of me. It had the feeling I felt the warmth, the kind of childlike fantasy of my imagination.

There was art sales and a day in Curio in sandgate, A sip and paint workshop, I love getting out and sharing creativity with people. Seeing others enjoy art and being inspired by others makes me glad to be alive.

May means June isn't far away, and that will be half way through 2026. Time really flies by, so althought at times I feel a little too busy. I am glad to be making the most of my time, looking back on the months through this blog helps me reflect on and appreciate the time I have spent. It also helps me to aim ahead and focus on progress.

Onto May...

Thank you for reading.

All the best, Take care!
